Like it or not, social media has become an inescapable part of modern-day life. Usage of social media platforms is becoming increasingly common in academia thanks to its potential to bring academic audiences together; a global conversation that researchers, students, educators or others with an interest in academic discussion can all be a part of, regardless of field of study or geography. Social platforms offer new opportunities to publish and publicise your work, to network within your discipline and beyond, and to engage the public.
Whether you are an active user, a passive listener, or a staunch avoider, come along to this session to better understand the potential benefits of using social media to amplify your work, and how the College Communications team can help. We will look at different platforms, and their suitability for different content.
