Guest Nights and Formal Hall
Guest Nights and Formal Halls are three-course meals, open to all members of College and Common Room. Both events are booked using the Wolfson Gateway.
Guest Nights
Guest Night dinners are elaborate, served formal dinners, with wines. They provide a convivial atmosphere and the chance to meet other Wolfsonians. Dress code is smart, academic gowns are not worn, and ties are optional.
Guest Night dinners usually take place every Thursday during weeks 1-8 of term. Pre-dinner drinks are normally at 19.00, followed by dinner at 19.30.
Booking
Bookings for guest nights opens shortly before 0th week of each term, and should be made via the Wolfson College Gateway. The cut-off time for bookings, changes, cancellations and seating requests is 09.00 on the Monday before each guest night, when the booking list closes. All dinners that are still booked when the list closes will be charged for at the full rate.

†Students may bring their official supervisor at the subsidised rate to one guest night per year. This allowance must be selected when booking.
Please Note:
- Dietary requirements must be noted on the online booking form. Diners will be provided with a place card specifying their dietary requirements, which should be retained between courses and during the ‘remove’ after dessert. Diners should place the card in front of them when they return for cheese.
- Drinks are included in the price of dinner. This includes both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Please refrain from using phones at Guest Night dinners.
- Seating requests should be made via the ‘additional information’ field on the booking form.
- Children aged 11 years and over are welcome to attend Guest Night. Younger children are welcome at Family Formals.
- Student diners are charged immediately via their top-up account. Other diners will be charged via their monthly Battels.
- Student tickets are non-transferrable. All guest bookings must be made under the name of their host, and will be charged at the full (non-subsidised) rate.
- As a matter of courtesy to our staff and other members of the Wolfson community, we ask that you please refrain from ‘block booking’ and then cancelling.

Formal Hall
Formal Hall is a served three-course meal that takes place two or three times each term. Dress code is smart, though black tie is not required, and academic gowns are not worn. Drinks are at 19.00, with dinner at 19.30. Formal Halls are open to all members of College, and members may invite up to three guests to attend with them.
Booking
All bookings for Formal Hall should be made via the Wolfson College Gateway. The booking list opens 14 days before each dinner.
Bookings, changes and cancellations cannot be made after 09.00 on the day that the booking list closes. For Friday dinners this is normally 09.00 on Tuesday. List closing dates are shown on the dinner details in the Gateway. Please note that each cancellation made 7 days or fewer before the list closes will incur a cancellation fee of £5.
All dinners that are still booked when the booking list closes will be charged for at the full rate.

†Please include your child’s age in the ‘additional information’ field when booking to allow the kitchens to plan food and seating arrangements.
Please note:

- Wine is not included in the price of Formal Hall, and it is not permitted to bring your own. Wine may be purchased from the Kitchen by the bottle.
- There is no seating plan. Seating is as diners choose among the places available.
- Student diners are charged immediately via their top-up account. Other diners will be charged via their monthly Battels.
- Student tickets are non-transferrable. All guest bookings must be made under the name of their host, and will be charged at the full (non-subsidised) rate.
- As a matter of courtesy to our staff and other members of the Wolfson community, we ask that you please refrain from ‘block booking’ and then cancelling.
- There is no informal supper on the night of a Formal Hall.
