And now for something a little bit different…❤️
In the Comms and Development Teams, we love to hear from Old Wolves about where their work and lives have taken them once they have finished their studies. In some cases, people remain in, or return to, Oxford and retain their close ties with the College. This is one such story, which we are delighted to share.
John Hemp and Merryn Williams were both MCRs in the old Wolfson building at 60 Banbury Road (MCR 1971-). They enjoyed playing chess and socialising with others in the Common Room. They soon got together and were married in 1973.
In their words: “John is a physicist, Merryn an English Literature person, but we agree on all the big issues and both like a quiet life, classical music, mountains and the sea. It has been a great joy to return to Wolfson after years of living away from Oxford. Thanks to Dr Derek Wyatt for bringing us together.”
John and Merryn are often in College – do say hello if you see them!
