The second-ever Wolfson College Arts Prize is now open for submissions.
After the success of last year’s Arts Prize and Creative Writing Prize, we are pleased to announce that the Wolfson Arts Prize is returning for 2024. The second iteration of the Arts Prize coincides with the 50th anniversary of the College’s move to its permanent site on the banks of the River Cherwell.
Last year, over 40 people from across the College submitted entries. First place went to Amaia Salazar for Hallucinations (pictured above), who subsequently landed a private exhibition at the North Wall Arts Centre through her participation.
How to Enter
Do you have a creative streak? Have you been working on a painting in your spare time? Do you doodle in the back of your notebook? Do you have brilliant photographs hanging around on your computer?
We’re looking for visual art from members of the Wolfson community in the form of painting, drawing, photography, textiles, sculpture – or even experimental film.
Whether you’ve always been passionate about art or are picking up a paintbrush for the first time, we’d love to hear from you!
A panel of experts from Wolfson’s artistic community will judge the finalists and the best works will be displayed around the College for the remainder of the year. Please note that sculptural and textile works will most likely be displayed in photographic form.
First Prize: £100
Second Prize: £50
Third Prize: £25
The competition is now open for entries. It’s free to apply and you can submit up to 2 pieces. Please email Geoffrey Garton Creative Arts Fellow Thomas Brennan with the subject line ‘ART PRIZE 2024’ and your submissions attached in digital form.
Competition closes Friday 7 June.
Winners Announced 25th June.
Good luck!
