Wolfson College celebrates Dr Derek Wyatt’s 100th Birthday

Wolfson College is delighted to celebrate the centenary of Emeritus Fellow Dr Derek Wyatt. Born in April 1924, Dr Wyatt has been a part of Wolfson College since the very beginning; he was at first a Fellow of Iffley College before it became Wolfson in 1966, when he held a senior post at the Nuffield Institute for Medical Research. He served as Vicegerent between 1977 and1979 and has remained an important member of the community ever since.

Speaking on his time as a Fellow of Wolfson College, Derek said:

“I valued my Fellowship of Iffley, then of Wolfson, beyond measure and it became a large and important part of my life. I just wish I could have done more.”

Derek recently took part in a Wolfson film to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the College moving to its home on the banks of the River Cherwell. You can watch the complete film below which includes personal stories from five members of the Wolfson community who have witnessed the College grow into the place we know and love today.
