Wolfson College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Mohsen Mosleh as a Governing Body Fellow. In addition to his role at Wolfson College, Dr Mosleh will join the Oxford Internet Institute (OII) as an Associate Professor in Social Data Science.

Dr Mosleh’s research and teaching focus on understanding human online behaviour in social networks through the lenses of computational/data science and cognitive psychology. His areas of study include online misinformation, collective decision making, and social network dynamics. His methodologies blend observational studies, randomised field experiments on social media platforms, digital lab experiments, and computational modelling.

Dr Mosleh is a distinguished scholar whose accolades include the Meta Foundational Integrity & Social Impact Research Award, Google Scholar Research Program Award, British Academy Award, and the British Science Association Award.

As a member of Governing Body, Dr Mosleh will play a role in ensuring that the College’s academic and administrative leadership are guided by sound policies and provided with adequate resources to further Wolfson’s mission.

Sir Tim Hitchens, President of Wolfson College, expressed his enthusiasm:

“We’re delighted to welcome Mohsen into the interdisciplinary Wolfson community. He brings engineering, computer science, and social science skills together on an issue that affects us all. I’m very pleased he will be calling Oxford home.”

Dr Mosleh, expressing his excitement at joining Wolfson, said:

“I’m really pleased to be part of Wolfson College’s diverse intellectual community. I’m looking forward to working with colleagues and students from across the university to work on topics of societal impact”

We eagerly anticipate the contributions he will bring to both Wolfson College and the wider University of Oxford community.
