Biography
Dr Fei-Yang Huang (黃飛揚) is a Wellcome Trust Early Career Research Fellow at the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford. He holds a Doctor of Medicine and a minor degree in Economics from National Taiwan University (Taiwan) as well as a PhD in Neurophysiology from the University of Cambridge (Queens’ College). Dr Huang serves on the Journal of Neuroscience Early Career Advisory Board (2025-2027) and co-leads the Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience (BEACON) Seminar at Oxford.
Dr Huang’s research investigates how the brain processes information to guide learning and decision-making. By combining behavioural theories from economics, psychology, and ecology with computational modelling, he studies how brain cells (neurons) communicate through electrical signals to support decision-making. His work aims to uncover the biological basis of complex cognitive processes, in particular the neural mechanisms underlying food choice and social interactions.
