The Rt Hon Lord (Robert) Reed is the President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. He is a graduate of the Universities of Edinburgh and Oxford, and has been a judge since 1998, following a career at the Bar. In addition to sitting on the Supreme Court and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, he is also a member of the panel of ad hoc judges of the European Court of Human Rights, where he sits from time to time. He is a Non-Permanent Judge of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal, where he sits for a month each year. He is also the High Steward of Oxford University.
