Food & Drink
Dining Halls are the heart of life at Oxford colleges, and Wolfson is no exception. We’re unique, however, in having no ‘high table’, true to the democratic vision of our founders. Students and Fellows sit together at mealtimes – a tradition that has sparked innumerable friendships and research collaborations over the years. Hall is where Wolfsonians share ideas, make friends for life, and enjoy incredible food courtesy of our team of chefs.
Lunch and dinner are served every day from Monday to Friday, and brunch (rightly famous) is served on Saturday mornings. More elaborate ‘Formal Halls’ and ‘Guest Nights’ take place throughout termtime, where Wolfsonians and their guests enjoy served, multi-course meals, sometimes with wine pairings from the College cellars.
Our kitchens serve lunch and dinner in Hall every day from Monday to Friday, including options for vegan and pescatarian diets. Brunch (rightly famous) is served on Saturday mornings.

*Please note that the Hall opens at 12.00 to staff only.
†Dinner is served early on Thursdays to facilitate Guest Nights. No informal supper is served prior to Formal Halls (see below).
Formal Halls take place two three times every term. These are served three-course meals, preceded by drinks. Dress code is smart; academic gowns are not required. Formal halls are open to all members of College, who may invite up to three guests. Find out more.
Guest Night dinners are elaborate, served formal dinners with wine pairings that take place every Thursday during weeks 1-8 of term. Drinks are served before dinner from 7pm. Dress code is smart; academic gowns are not worn; ties optional. Find out more.

One of the hubs of Wolfson’s community, the Bar is operated by trained volunteers on a rota system. If you would like to get involved, please contact the BarCo Chair.
The Cellar Bar is open to members of College and Common Room only, and any guests must be signed in. Payment can be made by University card (Battels) or debit card.

Wolfson maintains an extensive wine cellar, items from which are periodically released for sale to the College community. Find out more.
The Wolfson Café is situated next to the Lodge and serves hot and cold drinks and snacks from 08.00-17.00 Monday-Friday.
College members can pay with battels, both members and non-members can pay with bank card (not AMEX). Please note that the café does not accept cash.
Complimentary coffee and tea are available from the coffee machine in the UCR.
Ceramic mugs are provided in the UCR to reduce waste. Please leave used mugs in the UCR to be washed.
Children are welcome in the Common Room on Saturdays.
