Wolfson College is a great place to work. Founded as a graduate college in 1966, it is one of Oxford University’s largest and most international colleges, with an open, inclusive and responsive ethos. Wolfson is home to over 800 students from 75 countries and nearly 300 fellows. The College is located on the banks of the Cherwell River in north Oxford, with a campus of Grade 2 listed buildings and open parkland.

Our Maintenance Team provides services to our student accommodation, guest rooms, offices, meeting rooms, nursery and all other areas of the College. The Department currently consists of three members of staff and a Manager. We are looking to expand its numbers. As part of the team, you will deliver reactive and proactive maintenance services, including the emergency call-out rota.

Main duties of the role involve: the day-to-day completion of reactive, planned preventative work and compliance record keeping, as well as assisting in a range of duties related to minor works and some larger projects. Participating in the call-out rota is also required.

The ideal candidates will have maintenance knowledge and experience. Ability to communicate positively and work in a small, busy team is essential. Previous knowledge working within a maintenance department in an education setting would be an advantage.

The starting salary for a full-time role (42 hours) is £27,581 per annum, plus the call-out allowance (currently £1,629 per annum). Benefits include an attractive workplace pension scheme, 39 days annual leave inclusive of 8 bank holidays, free meals within allowance, free parking and an opportunity to work in a pleasant natural environment.

The closing date for applications is 9am on 9th September 2024. Interviews are planned for Wednesday 18th September 2024.
