Wolfson College, University of Oxford, wishes to appoint a PA to its President, Sir Tim Hitchens. This is an important role which provides comprehensive administrative support to the President and is involved in setting the tone and style of the President’s Office as well as the College. Sir Tim’s position runs until summer 2028, so a key part of this role will be to ensure a smooth transfer across to the new President.
Wolfson College is a great place to work. Founded as a graduate college in 1966, it is one of Oxford University’s largest and most international colleges, with an open and inclusive ethos. We are proud of our vibrant community of fellows, students, researchers and staff, and of our egalitarian and friendly spirit.
Wolfson is located on the banks of the Cherwell river in north Oxford, with a campus of Grade 2 listed buildings and open parkland. We are the first Higher Education institution in the UK to emit no carbon at all from its estate.
The College has a reputation as an excellent employer. Staff enjoy 39 days’ annual leave allowance, a generous pension scheme, free lunch within an allowance when on duty, free on-site parking, and an opportunity to become a Member of Common Room, which includes use of the college gym, and tennis and squash courts.
The successful candidate will be a pro-active self-starter, able to navigate demands and relationships with tact and sensitivity. They must be able to work well under pressure and make others feel welcome at all times. Excellent secretarial and administrative skills are required as well as the ability to communicate effectively in English at all levels and competence in using MS Office and Teams.
This is a full-time role at Wolfson College Grade 4 (£33,125 to £38,642 pa), and can be undertaken over four or five days a week. For full details please consult the further particulars of the role.
We encourage applicants from all sectors of the community and are especially keen to encourage candidates from under-represented groups to apply.
