Visiting Contractor Policy & Procedure

The College has a responsibility for the Health and Safety of contractors and others whom it employs.

Legislation from the Health & Safety Executive regarding the control of contractors on site means that it is essential that the College, in the form of the Home Bursary Office, should be aware of contractors presence on site. They should have carried out a Risk Assessment Method Statement, have Public Liability Insurance and have completed the Contractors in College Questionnaire. The Home Bursary Office, via the Estates Manager, must give consent for the work to proceed. Students and members of College or staff who are not authorised to do this should not give instructions or allow access to contractors.

Any member of the College seeking to appoint contractors must initially contact the Estates Manager.
